As I Get Older
By Deborah Ann Belka
Though I’m getting older,
I just keep growing . . .
for much greater things
God keeps on showing.
I never get tired,
uninterested or bored
for I’m always learning
more about my Lord.
Though I’m getting older,
I just keep thriving
as the Word of God
becomes more exciting.
I never get weary,
reading and knowing
for the wisdom I’m getting
keeps my faith flowing.
Though I’m getting older,
the more I can see
the greater things . . .
God keeps teaching me!

Nice writing and good message. : ) I like to tell people, though, when it comes to the physical decline in getting older – I’m 70 – “I wish I had been told what getting older was going to be like! I wouldn’t have done it!” : )
Amen to that Rodger! It was like when I turned 65 a switch was turned on and things begain to change, and I don’t mean gradually, hahaha! But, I thank God I am able to turn older and tell the next generation just how good our God is!
Thank you for this! It is so true and it never ceases to amaze me how much more we learn as we age (late 60’s). Staying faithful to daily prayer and meditation reinforces it. Example I have been reading “Jesus Calling” daily since 2013 and so have repeated each daily reading 9 times and yet I still learn something new each day from those same verses as my life experiences change constantly!! Thanks again for sharing this post!!
Hi Kirt! I appreciate your following us on CGM. WE are here to encourage as we age and it sounds like your were. Our world is getting harder to live in and if we can support and encourage each other it makes it a little eaiser. Glad to hear you have read so many devotions. But son’t forget to spend time in God’s word too. I don’t know if you have noticed or not, but we started daily devotions June 1st as well. Again, we are thankful for your following us! God Bless!
