What We Believe
Our convictions at Christian Grandfather Magazine (CGM) are designed to outline our core beliefs. We Have included support scripture references under each statement. This encourages the essential fundamental truths that we believe Christians must NOT deny. While CGM allows for a diversity of opinions, our Doctrinal position stands firm on the foundation of Holy Scripture and should appeal to those familiar with the true Word of God
We Believe The Following:
1. God
There is only one God, who has existed eternally in three persons: The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God, who rules the universe.
Genesis 1:1, Genesis 1:26-27, Genesis 3:22, Psalm 90:2, Matthew 28:19, 1 Peter 1:2, 2 Corinthians 13:14
2. Jesus
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father. He was born of a virgin as prophesied and lived a sinless human life. Jesus offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all men by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to heaven and will return again to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation and eternal life in heaven.
Matthew 1:22-23, Isaiah 9:6, John 1:1-5, John 14:10-30, Hebrews 4:14-15, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, Romans 1:3-4, Acts 1:9-11, 1 Timothy 6:14-15, Titus 2:13, John 10:1, 7, 9.
3. The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every believer from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. The Christian seeks to live under His control daily.
2 Corinthians 3:17, John 16:7-13, John 14:16-17, Acts 1:8, 1 Corinthians 2:12, 1 Corinthians 3:16, Ephesians 1:13, Galatians 5:25, Ephesians 5:18
4. The Bible
The Bible is God’s Word to all men. Human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit wrote it. It is the ultimate source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. The Bible is the infallible and inerrant Word of God.
2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:20-21, 2 Timothy 1:13, Psalm 119:105, Psalm 119:160, Psalm 12:6, Proverbs 30:5
5. Salvation
Salvation is God’s gift to you. It is given by grace alone, through faith alone in the blood of atonement of Christ, with repentance of sins. It is only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness that you can be saved from sin’s penalty. Eternal life begins the moment you receive Jesus Christ into your life by faith. There will be a resurrection of both the saved and unsaved; the saved to eternal life and the lost to eternal damnation.
Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:8-9, John 14:6, John 1:12, Titus 3:5, Galatians 3:26, Romans 5:1
6. Humanity
Humanity is made in the image of God. Although God designed us to have fellowship with Him, we became alienated from God through disobedience. As a result, all human beings are born with a sinful nature and choose to sin against God. We are incapable of regaining a right relationship with God through our own works and efforts.
Genesis 1:27, Psalm 8:3-6, Isaiah 53:6, Romans 3:23, Colossians 1:21, Isaiah 59:1-2.
We stand against abortion and will stand up for the unborn.
Exodus 20:13, 21:22-25, Leviticus 24:17, Proverbs 6:16-19, 24:11-12
7. Eternity
You were created to exist forever. We believe that forever is spent in one of two places: eternally separated from God because of sin or in union with God because of His forgiveness and salvation. When you die, you will either spend eternity in heaven or hell. Eternal separation from God happens in hell. Eternal union with God occurs in heaven.
John 3:16, 1 John 2:25, John 5:11-13, Romans 6:23, Revelation 20:15
8. We believe that God created all people equally for His purpose, and His Glory. God expects us to live together in peace that only He provides. Without Him there will be no peace in our nation or the world
Genesis 1:27, Galatians 3:26-29, Romans 2: 11, John 13:16, Mark 12:31
9. Gender
We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female and that gender is determined by one’s biological makeup at birth. These two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God. Rejection of one’s biological gender or gender identity is a rejection of the image of God within that person.
