It’s all Paul’s Fault

IT’S ALL THE APOSTLE PAUL’S FAULT!

WELL, NOT REALLY.

WELL, THEN IT’S MOSTLY HIS FAULT!

NOT REALLY…

It’s not Paul’s fault that many people misunderstand what he wrote and proliferate false teachings and false doctrines based on their own faulty interpretations of his writings and the scriptures.

From Paul’s writings come clarity of many mysteries that were previously hidden from mankind but now have been revealed to us because of Paul’s encounter with Jesus on the road to Damascus and his subsequent walk with the Lord guided by his Spirit.

The apostle Paul, the only intellectual among all the apostles, also the one abnormally born, had an extensive background in the scriptures and studied under Gamaliel. Paul had the intellectual credibility that drew people to him and to cause many early followers of Jesus to choose their preferred teachers; some say “I follow Paul, I follow Appolos, I follow Cephas”.

To many, the apostle Peter may appear to be “damaged goods”, losing influence among Christians because of his very visible public failures as documented in the Bible, and his lack of education.

But the apostle Peter was used mightily by God despite his failings. His writings give valuable insights on humility, living a life pleasing to God, preparing us for being face-to-face with Jesus at his soon return, and documenting yet unfulfilled prophecy.

And Peter also warns us about Paul’s teachings:

“So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him. Bear in mind that our Lord’s patience means salvation, just as our dear brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom that God gave him. He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction. Therefore, dear friends, since you have been forewarned, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of the lawless and fall from your secure position.”
‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭3‬:‭14‬-‭17‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Some people, ignorant and unstable, not only misunderstand Paul’s writings, but also other scriptures…

… LEADING TO THEIR OWN DESTRUCTION!

And these same people are leading other unsuspecting followers astray. Those who rely solely on their human teachers and don’t read and study the Bible for themselves.

Paul’s teachings are necessary for understanding the mysteries God has revealed to mankind.

But reading the entire bible gives us wisdom, understanding, and knowledge; enlightenment concerning God’s will, his plans, and his character, all guided by his Holy Spirit.

Let’s read the entire Bible and get to know its Author.

Be wary of false teachers:

“Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭24‬:‭4‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Greg’s passion for Bible study began when his wife, Janel, introduced him to a local men’s BSF group. The daily discipline of God’s Word drew him into closer fellowship with the Lord and inspired him to share Scripture-based reflections on LinkedIn. His mission is to encourage believers to study the Bible for themselves, examine their faith, and live with the assurance of eternal life in Christ. Greg and Janel live in Sterling Heights, Michigan, and enjoy time with their two married children, Emily and Jordan, and their grandson, Jack.
