Right or Wrong
I used to care about a lot more issues than I do now. I used to be passionate about specific topics and opinions that related to what I believed people should think is right or wrong, what they should do or not do. But as I’ve spent more time with Jesus and in God’s Word, I find my list of things that truly matter getting smaller and smaller.
So, my focus is on loving God and people, and serving in ways that actually make a difference in helping others love God and love people. If you’d known me more than 3-4 years ago, and had followed my writings, you’d have seen some powerful, “love God, love people” content. But you’d also have seen me pushing ideas and opinions that didn’t serve to draw people together around what God cared about.
What about now? I’m still passionate! I’m still a person of strong opinions! However my passion is not about things that divide people, but about drawing people closer to the Lord, and knowing His love. Here is the point. Don’t let your opinions and passions be presented in such a way that people see them rather than the love of Jesus.
Don’t spend more time and energy on talking about the things of this world rather than you do sharing the love of God. Be above all a light for the gospel, and let everything else become less important. “Accept other believers who are weak in faith, and don’t argue with them about what they think is right or wrong.”
