I left home for the first time at 18 years of age…. I had orders for Vietnam like so many others…  I said goodbye to my mother, sister, and three little brothers in the house…. My dad waited alone in the drive to take me to the airport. I had never seen my father cry…. With tears in his eyes dad took my hand and placed the Bible he carried in his pocket throughout the Pacific theater… Okinawa took a toll and he held that Bible tightly….. Dad looked at me as he handed this to me and said you are never alone…. It won’t matter if your on a ship, in a foxhole, or by yourself on a street…  Always … always remember that God is with you… Give Him your fear… give him your thoughts….  He ( God) will always be with you…. I couldn’t talk…. Tears were running down his face and he told me he loved me… this was 58 years ago….  Some things you never forget. Dad is gone now…  and I know I will see him again…. He taught me to trust in the Lord with all my heart

Most people call William Moorhead, “Papa Moose”. He brags that he is  married to an angel with her wings clipped. He and Marilyn have been married for nine years. Writing is something he never thought that he’d be called to do. However, God pricked his heart five years ago and he can’t put his pen down. He never knows what the subject will be or when God will stir his heart to write. It is Papa’s hope and prayer that his short stories will touch the hearts and minds of those who read them.

So very touching, and what a legacy your dad left you and such deep, tender love of the Lord.
What a perfect example of our Heavenly Father’s love for us. And now, 58 years later, God is continuing to use you to touch so many lives. Thank you, Jesus!
