The Fork In The Road
A PARTING OF THE WAYS
A life of being offensive to many
A dismantling of families and friendships
A long road, at times walking alone
The very definition of Christianity.
Becoming more Christlike. More like Jesus.
We must be reading the Bible to understand how to become more like Jesus.
A cover to cover reading, leaving no page unturned, from Genesis to Revelation.
The LOVE of God goes forward, boldly stated, “For God so loved the world…” (John 3:16-18).
“And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world.”
1 John 4:14 NIV
The Father INITIATED his love for us by sending his One and Only Son.
When Jesus appeared on the scene, as prophesied by the prophets, DID HE GO ROGUE?
Executing his Father’s mission, continuing the message of LOVE for the world, the Truth needed to be presented, no matter how it would be received.
The Father’s Truth was Jesus himself, fully consistent with his nature:
“The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.”
Hebrews 1:3 NIV
A message that many Christians accept as palatable is to “Love God, Love others”. And this is a part of the gospel message. Many professing Christians WISELY do not want to tarnish God’s good Name by saying or acting in such a way as to drive people away from believing in God the Father through Jesus his Son. Or having a TRUE faith in God that leads to a changed life and being in God’s presence for eternity.
So, as we read the Bible, we come to understand that the message of Jesus was OFFENSIVE to most people he came into contact with. The religious people of that time, needed to remain in control over the people so they would have none of these miracles and supernatural events derail their prosperity.
Who does this Jesus think he is?
(The Great I AM)
As people who have read and studied the Bible on our own, with prayer and guidance from the Holy Spirit, we must change our path from the inoffensive broader path of “Love God, Love others” to the narrow path of speaking the truth about sin, the reality of heaven and hell, and the soon coming event of the rapture, when the true followers of Jesus will be revealed for heaven and all the world to see.
As we tell others about the reality of the coming judgement on the earth, we will be labeled with many offensive names and cast aside as nut cases who are mean-spirited, judgemental, divisive, etc.
We and our message, will be written off as false, fear-mongering, hateful and not inclusive.
Let’s know the Bible well enough to oppose false teachers, false teachings, false religions, false Gods and all idolatry.
Let uphold God’s Truth found in his word.
THERE IS ONLY ONE WAY!

Greg’s journey into serious Bible reading and study began when his wife Janel, told him about a local men’s BSF (Bible Study Fellowship) group that met every Monday night. Once he started, he discovered daily time in God’s word was absolutely necessary to living a practical Christian life. After finishing the program, he committed this daily discipline drawing him into a closer fellowship with the Lord. With guidance from the Holy Spirit, and much prayer, Greg felt led to do more. He began by presenting the gospel on LinkedIn with short excerpts of commentary supported by God’s word. His mission is to encourage Christians to read the Bible and learn for themselves the truth of God’s word. His heart’s desire is to prompt Christians to prayerfully perform a self-evaluation to be certain that they have the Holy Spirit living within them and that they are indeed in the faith, certain of spending eternity with the Father, Son and Spirit. Greg and his wife Janel, are empty nesters residing in Sterling Heights, Michigan. They have two married children, Emily and Jordan, and one grandson Jack (Emily). You can find a variety of articles by Greg on Linkedin.
