Assured Victory
The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law; but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
There are many things in this world that hurt or hinder us; some are painful, others are just a nuisance that make life difficult. The timing of such trials never fails to amaze me; how often they occur just as some great work is being achieved in our walk with God. As we become older and more mature in God we recognise trials for what they really are; they are hindrances sent to distract us from God.
The way to manage these problems is to remain close to God; reading His Word and seeking His presence in prayer. In this, He will not only remind you of His presence but also of the victory we have in His Son. As children of God, we share in Jesus Christ’s victory over sin and death – we are saved for eternity. God reminds us of this magnificent blessing when the world is nipping at our heels; the reason being that if He can conquer sin and death, our trial is no problem to Him either!
Dear reader, despite the trials we face today we are assured of victory in Jesus over sin and death. Surely then His victory at Calvary covers all our life, including now! If we are in Him our victory is assured, regardless of what this world throws at us.
