Think on This: The Measure of My Worth
The measure of the worth of our public activity for God is the private profound communion we have with Him.… We have to pitch our tents where we shall always have quiet times with God, however noisy our times with the world may be.
— My Utmost for His Highest
Thought:
As I begin a new week, I will dedicate time each day to be in the presence of the Lord, irrespective of the noise around me. During these moments, I will listen and grow in His strength. I will approach Him with a heart of thankfulness and express my gratitude for the abundant strength and blessings He provides.
Prayer:
Father, as I walk with you, remind me that I am yours. Thank you for your love. Teach me your ways so that I may walk worthy of sharing you with those you send across my path.
– Amen
The Measure of Your Worth:
“But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8 ESV)

Born in Scotland, Chambers teaching and preaching ministry took him as far as the United States and Japan. He died at age 43 while serving as chaplain to Allied troops in Egypt during World War I. “My Utmost for His Highest” was compiled after Chambers’ death by Biddy, his wife, and based on the copious notes she took during his sermons. Her devotiion to share his work now brings us “The Most Beloved Devotiopnal of All Time.”
