The Bible documents many encounters between God and men.

The interaction is predictable:

FACEDOWN WITH FEAR AND REVERENCE

The created standing before their Creator:

‭‭Genesis‬ ‭17‬:‭1‬-‭5‬ ‭NIV‬‬

When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to him and said, “I am God Almighty; walk before me faithfully and be blameless. Then I will make my covenant between me and you and will greatly increase your numbers.” Abram fell facedown, and God said to him, “As for me, this is my covenant with you: You will be the father of many nations. No longer will you be called Abram; your name will be Abraham, for I have made you a father of many nations.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭17‬:‭1‬-‭8‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“After six days Jesus took with him Peter, James and John the brother of James, and led them up a high mountain by themselves. There he was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as the light. Just then there appeared before them Moses and Elijah, talking with Jesus. Peter said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here. If you wish, I will put up three shelters—one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.” While he was still speaking, a bright cloud covered them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!” When the disciples heard this, they fell facedown to the ground, terrified. But Jesus came and touched them. “Get up,” he said. “Don’t be afraid.” When they looked up, they saw no one except Jesus.”

‭‭Revelation‬ ‭1‬:‭17‬-‭18‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. Then he placed his right hand on me and said: “Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.”

‭‭Revelation‬ ‭4‬:‭10‬-‭11‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“The twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne and worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say: “You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.””

As Christians, we look forward to the soon coming day when we stand face to face with Jesus our Savior and Lord, in awe and reverence.

But until then pursue holiness:

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭12‬:‭14‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.”

Greg Calamia’s journey into serious Bible reading and study began when his wife Janel, told him about a local men’s BSF (Bible Study Fellowship) group that met every Monday night. Once he started, he discovered daily time in God’s word was absolutely necessary to living a practical Christian life. After finishing the program, he committed this daily discipline drawing him into a closer fellowship with the Lord. With guidance from the Holy Spirit, and much prayer, Greg felt led to do more. He began by presenting the gospel on LinkedIn with short excerpts of commentary supported by God’s word. His mission is to encourage Christians to read the Bible and learn for themselves the truth of God’s word. His heart’s desire is to prompt Christians to prayerfully perform a self-evaluation to be certain that they have the Holy Spirit living within them and that they are indeed in the faith, certain of spending eternity with the Father, Son and Spirit. Greg and his wife Janel, are empty nesters residing in Sterling Heights, Michigan. They have two married children, Emily and Jordan, and one grandson Jack (Emily).
