CONVERSATIONS WITH GOD

Odd subject  isn’t it…. Conversations with God. I have to laugh at myself…. Oftentimes I’m tormented about something trivial, and I start what I think is an intelligent conversation…

I ramble on in my head about the problem at hand and plot solutions that seem logical to myself.

Ever notice that more often than not these ideas hit a brick wall?

Of course being of sound mind and knowing that I couldn’t possibly have made a mistake because I am man; frustration sets in followed by anger because things aren’t going as I had planned.

I will usually try to regroup and attack a problem from a different angle knowing I will be right this time.

I think you can see where this might be going . . . and I still haven’t gone to the Master for help. Sooooooo,  more anger, more frustration kicks in and I am now approaching a boiling point.

I am rapidly sliding down a hill with no control spinning, and my anger will cause me to crash…. lashing out at whomever happens to be near . . . and venting in a rage.

The scenario I’ve just described is one we have all encountered.

When we profess that we are Christians we are children of the most high God.

Abba is our Father and like any father He longs for His children to communicate with Him,  this communication is in a conversation . . . Not a one-way conversation, but a two way.

We must be willing to listen in our hearts for Abba to speak to us.

Rage and anger are tools that the devil will use in his attempts to make you hurt others, turn your back against God, and keep you in a constant state of confusion and stress.

Losing our temper in a rage is NOT of God and does not bring Him Glory. Why? The answer is simple….ABBA is there… He is there for us to seek and to find the answers we need.

When situations arise where we face nothing but chaos . . . BREATHE DEEPLY and allow God our Father to calm the sea before us.

The more anger and frustration that builds, the higher the flames are fanned by satan; you will be blinded. We must always seek our Father with each step we take.

Matthew 6:33 KJV

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness , and all these things shall be added unto you.

There are many scriptures we may draw upon for understanding why we must turn to the Father . . . we must control our anger by giving our problems to God. We must understand that HE, our Father, is in control.

We cannot run from Him or hide . . .and He seeks for us to talk with Him . . . He waits for us to reach out to Him.

As parents and grandparents we understand this . . . You want your child to learn that you are there to help and guide them. We always want them to know where home is and to turn to us knowing that we love them. So too . . . our heavenly Father.

There are two scriptures I will share with you in hopes that it will help you to understand …….. We cannot run from God, and loss of our temper is a tool used against us and others by the devil.

Proverbs 15:1

A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs anger.

Proverbs 14:29

Whoever is slow to anger has great understanding, but he who has a hasty temper exalts folly.

When we place God first in our lives, we are accepting His direction His guidance.

We will, … and do experience joy and happiness when we make God the first priority in our lives.

THERE IS A PURPOSE TO EACH OF OUR LIVES AND A REASON FOR OUR BEING HERE IN THE FIRST PLACE.

Making God our first priority enables us to experience a peace in our hearts and in our minds knowing we are HIS CHILDREN and loved beyond measure.

This conversation you and I have with our Father is always one of coming home . . .

When we choose to go our own way, we run from the truth . . . we are running away saying I’ve got this, I can do this, I’m in control . . . We have turned away from our Father who is always in control.

My prayer for each of you and myself included … is that in everything we do, … in all we seek … we turn to our Father first and allow His wisdom and love to guide our steps through this path of life.

In Jesus’ Holy Name . . . Amen & God bless you.

Most people call William Moorhead, “Papa Moose”. He brags that he is  married to an angel with her wings clipped. He and Marilyn have been married for nine years. Writing is something he never thought that he’d be called to do. However, God pricked his heart five years ago and he can’t put his pen down. He never knows what the subject will be or when God will stir his heart to write. It is Papa’s hope and prayer that his short stories will touch the hearts and minds of those who read them.

And this kingdom of God is at hand, it is HERE and NOW. Yes , there is a reason for our being here. The Lord wants us to continue with His love, grace, kindness…….and much more so, we are here to glorify Him .
