Scripture and a Prayer: “Being Filled”

“Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit.” (Ephesians 5:18)

Prayer:

Lord, You have called us to not be filled with artificial stimulants to get through the day, which include the worries and anxieties that come in life. Rather, you have commanded us to instead be filled with the Holy Spirit, who will then lead and guide us, not only away from these false gods and hopes that we cling to but will lead us into Your truth for our lives. And so, when these anxieties come our way, let’s pray for the Holy Spirit’s guidance so that in the end God’s peace that surpasses all understanding will be ours. Holy Spirit, we place ourselves in Your capable hands today. Please give us the knowledge and strength we need. And we ask this in Jesus’s name. AMEN
