Thought For Today: “The Richest Land in the World”

The richest piece of property in the world isn’t the diamond mines of South Africa, nor is it the oil fields of the Middle East. The richest piece of property in the world is a small parcel of land known as Calvary.

It was here that God demonstrated His love for humanity, in that while we were still His enemy He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for us so that we can have the greatest gift ever, the forgiveness of sin and eternity in heaven (Romans 5:8).

To own a piece of that property all we have to do is to believe in what Jesus did for us as He took our sins upon Himself and dying in our place.

But this leads us to an even greater land of great riches, and that is heaven.

Heaven is that place where the suffering we endure here on earth will be eradicated. It’s a place many have called the land of no-mores, where there will be no more pain, sorrow, suffering, tears, hunger, thirst, night, or darkness.

But there’s another ‘no-more’ that wraps it all up. There is no longer the curse of sin and the devastation that is a result of it. Instead, heaven is that place where we’ll get a new body, custom built house, and the most fantastic foods to eat. It’s a perfect place, a place where we will be in the presence of God forever.

And entrance into Heaven is through that small plot of land in Israel, Calvary.

Amen! And the best part is that entrance into Heaven is not something that we have to work for or earn, no down payment on our part, no closing costs, no loan to have to qualify for, it has been paid in full by the blood of Jesus Christ upon the cross for our sins. All He asks is that we believe, receive and put our complete trust in Him by faith as our Savior and Lord.
