“He Gets Us” Super Bowl commercial.

My take……..

It was a commercial on Super Bowl on National TV talking about Jesus getting us! That’s amazing.

Why? Because he does get us. And all the controversial stuff people do or don’t agree on has nothing to do with if Jesus loves us. He doesn’t care where we have been or what we have done. He was the only perfect human to ever live and die and give his life for others. He may not have always agreed, but he still loved and showed love to others NO MATTER WHAT. How much better would this world be if we quit worrying so much about what others are doing that we don’t agree with and just showed love? The point of the commercial wasn’t to shame or point or SMH….. it was to simply share that Jesus Gets Us and he loves us unconditionally. Because none, I assure you, none of us are perfect but we are still loved.

My aunt actually countered what I said and told me she felt Jesus doesn’t get us because he is perfect, and we are human. I told her I realized that but even though he was a perfect human, he went through and understood what we go through. I told her it didn’t mean he always agreed or came down to our level and ever sinned, but he still gets us and what we go through. Lots of people also weren’t impressed with the money spent but I thought it was necessary to reach that many people. If it even saved one life, it’s worth it.

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfector of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:1-2

Dear Heavenly Father, help us to brighten someone’s day with your love through an encouraging word, an act of kindness, or simply a smile. Help us to have the faith to know that you hear our prayers, no matter the time or distance. Watch over our loved ones who are suffering. In Jesus name I ask this in, Amen.
