A Scripture and a Prayer: “Words and Thoughts Matter”

“Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer.” (Psalm 19:14)

Prayer:

Lord, let me always remember that it is not only my words that you hear, but also my thoughts. Jesus, you said that I speak what is flowing from out of the abundance of my heart, but I also know that my heart is desperately wicked. Therefore, I humbly ask that You search me and know my heart and see if there is any wicked way within me, and then lead me in the way everlasting. And so, may my words, thoughts, and actions be good, right, pure, and true, so that through my life I can bring You glory and honor. AMEN
