My Bucket List

By Deborah Ann Belka

Lord, I’ve got me a bucket,
filled with things for me to do
so the world may know. . .
why I am so in love with You.

The first thing inside of it,
means an awful lot to me . . .
for, I want it to be Your image
in me, that other people see.

The next thing that it holds,
is my desire to lead souls to You
it’s the most important thing
in my bucket, for me to do.

There’s more in my bucket,
that needs acknowledgment
for, I want to be to others
a source of encouragement.

I want to use the gifts given me,
to lead and light the way
to let the fruit of the Your Spirit
on my soul, continue to sway.

I want to keep on growing,
no matter how old I get
I want to be just like You . . .
to love, forgive and to forget.

I want to share my faith
the reasons why, You I trust
I want to live a Spirit filled life
powerful, mighty and robust.

I want to sing to You my praise,
in the shadow of my life . . .
I want to help others through
the misery of their own strife.

I want to grow in grace,
in the knowledge of Your will
I want to help show others . . .
how to trust and be still.

Lord, I’ve got me a bucket,
full of things for me to do
before I leave this earth . . .
to spend eternity with You!

Wonderful! Time to fill my bucket with God-honoring to-dos.
